Join the International Oak Society’s 7-day botanical and cultural journey focused on the oaks of Türkiye's diverse ecoregions, from Caucasus-Anatolian-Hyrcanian temperate forests to Aegean and Western Türkiye sclerophyllous and mixed forests.
Officially established in 1992, the International Oak Society (IOS), sprouted from the passion of a handful of individuals from different parts of the world interested in learning about oaks. Since then, organizing oak tours has been a key force in achieving this goal. “Learning about oaks” means many things, and this is reflected in the diversity of the IOS membership: from tree lovers to artists, from top-notch researchers in many fields to conservationists, from ecologists to entomologists to historians…the list is long and rich. We are looking forward to meeting the trees of Türkiye, as well as Homo sapiens who live there and with whom we can share our oak experiences.
Participation is open to IOS members; non-members can join the IOS on registering for the Tour.
